Marli Thompson

Marli Thompson is an undergraduate student at the University of Maryland with an interest in design thinking, innovation, english, animal sciences, and all things art. She is eager to support the creative team at the Academy to equip people with new skills and mindsets that produce ambitious, compassionate and creative problem solvers, as well as provide the opportunities to forge connections between people from all walks of life.

Before joining the Academy, she worked with the Innovation Studio during the NOI+Festival 2025, and worked closely with the team and musicians to explore what new possibilities for performance lie in the realm of orchestra. She also interned at Empact Art in Baltimore, MD, contributing to the completion of the Essex Plaza Mural.

Outside the Academy, you can catch her writing short stories, hanging out with friends and family, or practicing one of the instruments she plays.
